使用 ACS 光度测量测绘银河系 M31 星系中最外侧已知星团 B514

摘要
我们报告对最近发现的银河系 M31 星系中最外侧星团 B514 的深层 F606W、F814W ACS 光度测量结果。该星团呈现较为扩展的形貌，且成员星从中心起至约 200 平方天文单位都可确定性地被识别。颜色-星等图显示其红巨星分支 (RGB) 较陡峭，且水平分支 (HB) 延伸至不稳定条带之外，表明 B514 为一颗古老且金属贫的经典星团。RGB 轨迹及 RGB 凹点的位于 [Fe/H] ~ -1.8 的金属度，与光谱估计值表现良好一致。对其整体绝对 V 光度 (M_V < -9.1) 的初步估计表明，B514 属于 M31 中最亮的星团之列。
