弱混合角的新测量
摘要
SLAC 的 E158 实验对电子-电子 (Moller) 散射中的偏振破坏进行了首次测量。我们报告了使用 45 和 48 GeV 偏振电子束与液态氢靶内未偏振电子进行弹性散射中 right-left 偏振破坏横截面不对称性 (APV) 的初步结果,使用了累计数据的 50%。我们发现 APV = (-160 ± 21 (stat.) ± 17 (syst.)) 匹克布尔,观察偏振破坏的显著性为 6.3σ。在标准模型的框架下,这给出了在 Q² = 0.026 GeV² 处的弱混合角测量 sin²(θW-MSBAR) = 0.2379 ± 0.0016 (stat.) ± 0.0013 (syst.)。我们还 presenting 首次观察到 Moller 散射中单极转向不对称性的初步结果。
