我们检讨了产生和分析开放团白矿星（WD）经验初始-最终质量关系的新方法。我们重新确定了已发表的完整白矿星样本的初始和最终质量，然后通过严格的标准筛选该样本。我们通过将所有白矿星在单个星团中进行分组来创建经验初始-最终质量关系。尽管这种方法可能引入显著的系统误差，但我们仍然可以确定，在当前观测约束下，初始-最终质量关系是线性的，关系内在散点约为 0.05 太阳质量，且不存在金属丰度依赖。更深入地探讨这些问题显然是必要的。
