利用DECam搜寻与IceCube中微子相关的爆发光学暂现源

摘要
在本工作中,我们研究IceCube的实时TeV–PeV能段中微子警报与以核坍缩超新星(CC SNe)形式出现的光学对应体之间的成协可能性。IceCube警报的光学后随需要两种主要仪器能力:(1)深成像,因为73%的中微子来自红移z > 0.3的CC SNe;(2)大视场(FoV),因为典型的IceCube缪子中微子指向精度约为~1度。利用Blanco/DECam(gri波段至24星等,2.2度直径视场),我们在每次警报后约3周内、约6个夜晚对两个IceCube警报IC170922A与IC171106A进行了触发式光学后随观测。对于IC170922A(IC171106A)的后随观测,我们预期在z ≲ 0.3处12.1%(9.5%)的相符CC SNe可被探测到,且平均而言,中微子90%包含区域内分别有0.23(0.07)颗非成协SNe也通过我们的筛选标准。我们在视场内发现两颗与中微子警报时间相符的候选CC SNe,但在90%包含区域内没有,这与这些观测的背景CC SNe预期速率在统计上一致。若CC SNe是TeV–PeV中微子的主导源,我们预期使用类似本工作的DECam观测,对于约60(约200)个带有(不带有)所有候选体红移信息的中微子警报,可在3σ置信水平探测到相符CC SNe的超出。
