摘要
在多信使天文学时代,所有观测手段都在提升其灵敏度与整体性能。聚焦相对论宇宙与宇宙演化(FORCE)任务是JAXA/NASA合作的产物,与以往任何硬X射线任务相比,将在硬X射线波段( 10~keV)达到高10倍的灵敏度,并提供同步的软X射线覆盖。FORCE计划于2030年代初发射,为ESA旗舰任务Athena提供完美的硬X射线补充。FORCE将成为发现被遮蔽/隐藏的黑洞并研究宇宙中高能粒子加速的最强X射线探针,并将探讨宇宙中的相对论过程如何实现以及这些过程如何影响宇宙演化。FORCE工作于1--79 keV,配备两对相同的超镜与宽带X射线成像仪。镜面与成像仪由高机械刚度可展开光学台架连接,带有对准监测系统,焦距为12~m。具有多层镀膜的轻量硅镜在宽通带内实现了半功率直径的高角分辨率。成像仪是一种全新SOI-CMOS硅像素探测器与分别负责较软和较硬能段的CdTe探测器的混合体。FORCE将凭借其宽带X射线灵敏度在2030年代的多信使天文学中发挥重要作用。
