Recurrence of integral zeros for ergodic flows

Dynamical Systems 2025-02-04 v5

Abstract

Let a flow TtT_t preserve an ergodic probability measure μ\mu, fdμ=0\int f\,d\mu=0, and μ(A)>0\mu(A)>0. Then for almost all xAx\in A, for which f(x)0f(x)\neq 0, there is a sequence tk{t_k}\to \infty such that TtkxAT_{t_k}x\in A and 0tkf(Tsx)ds=0\int_0^{t_k} f(T_sx)ds=0.
