Abstract

We recall theorems by Krygin, Atkinson, Shneiberg and propose the following assertion. Let TtT_t be an ergodic flow on (X,μ)(X,\mu), let a function ff on XX have zero mean, and μ(A)>0\mu(A)>0 for AXA\subset X. Then for almost all xAx\in A with f(x)0f(x)\neq 0 there exists a sequence tkt_k\to\infty such that 0tkf(Tsx)ds=0\int_0^{t_k}f(T_sx)ds=0 and TtkxAT_{t_k}x\in A.
