Paired domination in graphs with minimum degree four

Combinatorics 2025-05-06 v1

Abstract

A set SS of vertices in a graph GG is a paired dominating set if every vertex of GG is adjacent to a vertex in SS and the subgraph induced by SS admits a perfect matching. The minimum cardinality of a paired dominating set of GG is the paired domination number \gpr(G)\gpr(G) of GG. We show that if GG is a graph of order~nn and δ(G)4\delta(G) \ge 4, then \gpr(G)1017n<0.5883n\gpr(G) \le \frac{10}{17}n < 0.5883 n.
