超亮 X 射线源 NGC4168-ULX1 的另一个星系识别

我们报告了超亮 X 射线源 (ULX) XMMU J121214.5+131248 (NGC4168-ULX1) 的光学与红外对称物的识别。光学光谱给出红移 z=0.217，这意味着该 ULX 不与靠近的星系 NGC 4168 相关联，而是与一颗背景天体相关联。光学光谱线比值和由可用数据构建的光谱能分布 indicate 该源很可能是一个星际风暴核。
