1998 年 9 月，X射线暂变性天体 XTE J1550-564 经历了一次软硬 X 射线的重大喷发，随后发生射电脉冲。澳大利亚长基线阵列（LBA）于射电喷发峰值后不久获取的图像显示出演化结构。观测到的成分具有>2c 的表观分离速度。
