直接测量顶夸克质量

摘要
我们使用在 root(s) = 1.8 TeV p pbar 碰撞下 Fermilab Tevatron 125 pb^-1 曝光中由 D0 探测器产生的 t tbar 对，测量顶夸克质量 m_t。我们对 m_t 在 t tbar --> b W^+ bbar W^- 最终态中进行双约束拟合，其中一束 W 衰变为 q qbar，另一束衰变为 e nu 或 mu nu。事件按拟合质量与事件为信号而非背景的概率度量进行分箱。对数据进行似然拟合后得到 m_t = 173.3 ± 5.6 (stat) ± 6.2 (syst) GeV/c^2。
