在2011年结束时，有两项结果显得突出，它们似乎与二十世纪的观点相悖。第一个是OPERA超光速中微子观测结果，与狭义相对论相矛盾。第二个是希格斯玻色子未能明确出现。虽然这两项结果有望在2012年底前得到定论，但我们研究了一种能够同时解释这两个异常现象的单一机制。
