巨型星云系团是否在盘中形成？

摘要
大型银河系（LMC）中13个星际星系的径向速度相对于LMC的HI旋转曲线的离心率为28 km/s，相对于平均星际星系速度的离心率为30 km/s。这表明，尽管Schommer等人（1992）曾提出的假设并不能被确认，仍不能排除LMC星际星系是在压力支撑的星云中形成，而非在旋转盘中形成的可能性。因此，LMC的星际星系可能表现出与M33中星系相同的年龄与动力学关系。
