蓝波段弱引力透镜:平流层观测的反直觉策略

摘要
弱引力透镜测量的统计功效主要由形状被分辨的高红移星系数量驱动。传统认知与物理直觉表明,这通过长波长(红或近红外)波段的深场成像得以优化,以避免丢失红移后的 Balmer 断裂与 Lyman 断裂星系。我们使用合成发射线 EL-COSMOS 星表模拟了不同滤光片、不同高度下的透镜观测。在此我们预测使用现成与定制滤光片达到目标 z > 0.3 源密度所需的曝光次数。地基观测在红波段明显更优,天基观测(更狭义上)亦然。然而,我们发现 SuperBIT——一台在平流层运行的衍射极限天文台——反而应在蓝波段进行其透镜质量观测。
