VERITAS对V407 Cygni新星的观测

摘要

我们报告了对V407 Cygni的甚高能(E > 100 GeV)伽马射线观测结果,V407 Cygni是一个共生双星,在2010年3月10日至26日期间经历了一次新星爆发,产生了0.1-10 GeV的伽马射线。观测使用甚高能辐射成像望远镜阵列系统(VERITAS)在2010年3月19日至26日进行,由于V407 Cyg的位置,观测天顶角较大。提出了一种改进的大天顶角观测重建技术,并用于分析数据。我们没有探测到V407 Cygni,并在1.6 TeV处给出了通量的微分上限为2.3 × 10^(-12) erg cm^(-2) s^(-1)(95%置信水平)。当与Fermi-LAT的数据联合考虑时,这一结果限制了新星中甚高能粒子的加速。
