VERITAS 对微类星体 Cygnus X-3 的观测

摘要

我们报告了对微类星体 Cygnus X-3 的 TeV 伽马射线观测结果。观测使用甚高能辐射成像望远镜阵列系统 (VERITAS) 进行,时间跨度从 2007 年 6 月 11 日至 2011 年 11 月 28 日。VERITAS 对能量在 85 GeV 至 30 TeV 之间的伽马射线最为敏感。有效曝光时间总计约 44 小时,观测覆盖了该天体的六个不同无线电/X 射线状态。在任何状态下均未探测到显著的 TeV 伽马射线发射,所有观测综合结果亦如此。缺乏正信号,尤其是在探测到 GeV 伽马射线的状态下,对 Cygnus X-3 中的 TeV 伽马射线产生机制提出了限制。我们讨论了这些结果的含义。
