在可见光波段，太阳光在金星大气的云顶高度（对应于 67 km 的高度）发生散射。我们展示了使用 THEMIS 太阳望远镜（加那利群岛泰德天文台）的 MTR 高分辨率光谱仪在钠 D2 太阳谱线（5890 Å）上进行的 Doppler 速度测量。由于多云天气，观测仅持续了 49 分钟。然而，我们能够评估仪器的速度灵敏度，即每 1 角秒像素 31 m/s，并给出了赤道处纬向风振幅的值为 151 +/- 16 m/s。
