我们考察了在标量场满足 mt>>1 条件下耦合 Maxwell 项后的细结构系数 alpha 的演化问题。在这种情况下，我们发现主导性耦合 -(phi/4f)F^2 中的耦合尺度 f 对 alpha 的宇宙演化产生影响，形式为 ln(alpha/alpha_0) xi(m_{Pl}/f)ln(tanh(t/2 tau)/tanh(t_0/2 tau))。对 Murphy 等人对 QSO 观测的拟合结果给出 f/xi= 2.12^{+0.58}_{-0.37} 10^5m_{Pl}。此处 m_{Pl} 为简化普朗克质量，xi^2=rho_phi/rho_m 参数化了 phi 对宇宙物质密度的贡献。
