VAMOS:HAWC 伽马射线天文台的前导项目

摘要

VAMOS 是一个原型探测器,于 2011 年建在墨西哥普埃布拉州海拔 4100 米(a.s.l.)处。VAMOS 的目标是完善 HAWC 天文台的设计、建造技术及数据采集系统。HAWC 是一个正在 VAMOS 同一地点建设的空气簇射阵列,旨在研究 TeV 能段天空。VAMOS 装置包括六个水切伦科夫探测器和两套不同的数据采集系统。它于 2011 年 10 月至 2012 年 5 月间运行,平均有效时间为 30%。除了科学验证目的外,这八个月的数据被用于获得本文展示的结果:探测器对 2012 年 3 月福布什下降(Forbush decrease)的响应,以及对长伽马射线暴 GRB111016B 和 GRB120328B 在高于 30 GeV 能量处可能发射的分析。
