变磁金属磁响应中的普适性

摘要
本文报道了变磁重费米子（HF）化合物 UPt3 中非线性磁化率 χ3(T) 的测量结果。在高温下，χ3(T) < 0 且数值很小。当温度低于 35K 时，它变为正值，在 T = 10K 处形成一个峰，然后随温度进一步降低而降至零。χ3 的峰值出现在温度 T3，大约是线性磁化率最大值温度 T1 的一半。我们展示了 URu2Si2 和 UPd2Al3 的结果，以表明这一特征是其他 HF 材料共有的。一个描述变磁转变的两能级模型，以能级间的间隔作为唯一的能量尺度，捕捉到了所有实验观测到的特征。
