研究表明，在碰撞能量高于 540 GeV、转移动量低于 2 GeV（包括库仑-核干涉区）的核子弹性衍射散射，可以在一个非常简单的 Regge-eikonal 模型中描述，其中 eikonal 仅为两个超临界 Regge 极点项之和。所提近似的预言能力得到了验证。
