利用地震噪声预测火山喷发

摘要
在喷发间歇期，岩浆增压会导致火山构造弹性性质发生细微变化。我们利用记录在 Piton de la Fournaise 火山上的背景地震噪声的可重复性特性，以一天的时间分辨率测量了小于 0.1% 的相对地震波速变化。我们的结果表明，所研究的五次火山喷发之前，在岩浆注入区域内均观测到明显可检测的地震波速降低。这些前兆反映了岩浆增压引起的构造膨胀，可作为改进火山喷发预测的有用指标。
