最近的天体观测表明，质子-电子质量比和细结构常数经历了非平凡的时间演化。我们讨论在希顿子失控情景下，这些量的时间变动——该情景下规范耦合在弦尺度 统一。我们表明，通过选择可调参数，这种情景可同时匹配两种变动的同数量级及其（相反）符号。
