摘要
2006年1月12日，哈勃太空望远镜观察了怀疑因宇宙弦导致的奇异双星外星天体CSL-1。高分辨率图像显示，该对象实际上是一个由两个相互作用的巨型椭圆星系。尽管两个成分在能量和光分布以及径向速度上呈现奇异相似性，CSL-1并非由宇宙弦透镜ing椭圆星系。
