T2K中微子通量预测

摘要
Tokai-to-Kamioka (T2K)实验利用来自J-PARC加速器设施的离轴μ子中微子束(峰值能量约0.6 GeV)研究中微子振荡。中微子的相互作用在距离生产靶280米的近探测器以及位于295公里外的远探测器——超级神冈(SK)处被观测。通量预测是成功预测T2K探测器中微子相互作用率的关键部分,也是T2K中微子振荡和截面测量的重要输入。基于FLUKA和GEANT3的模拟对中微子产生所涉及的物理过程进行建模,从初级束流质子在T2K靶中的相互作用,到产生中微子的强子和μ子的衰变。模拟使用质子束监测测量作为输入。强相互作用的建模通过薄靶强子产生数据进行重新加权,包括来自NA61/SHINE实验的最新带电π介子和K介子测量。对于最初的T2K分析,通量预测的不确定性在通量峰值附近评估为低于15%。远探测器和近探测器通量预测比值的不确定性在通量峰值附近小于2%。
