孤立矮星系 UGC4879 的恒星形成历史

摘要
近期利用哈勃太空望远镜高级巡天相机对 UGC4879 的观测证实，它是一个邻近的孤立矮不规则星系。我们使用红巨星支尖端法测得其距离为 1.36+/-0.03 Mpc。这一距离使得 UGC4879 位于本星系群首次 turnaround 半径之外，且距离其最近邻居 Leo A 约 700 kpc。这种孤立性使得该星系成为研究未受与其他星系相互作用复杂化的原始恒星形成的理想实验室。我们给出了由模拟颜色-星等图推导出的 UGC4879 的恒星形成历史。
