弯尾星系与星系团的空间关联

摘要
我们完成了一项覆盖 Spitzer-South Pole Telescope 深场 86 平方度的深度射电连续谱巡天，以检验弯尾星系是否与星系团相关联。我们给出了一个包含 22 个弯尾星系以及另外 24 个弯尾星系候选体的新星表。令人惊讶的是，在具有测光红移的 8 个弯尾星系中，仅有 2 个与已知星系团相关联。虽然已知星系团中弯尾源的缺失可由灵敏度等效应解释，但大多数弯尾星系缺乏已知星系团关联这一点，对当前的弯尾星系模型提出了质疑。
