摘要

超高动能谱仪(SHMS)已在 Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility(Jefferson Lab)的 Hall C 处建成。SHMS 具备达到 11 GeV/c 的动能能力,为使用来自升级版 Jefferson Lab 加速器的最大可用束能的电散射实验中测量产生的带电粒子提供了测量手段。SHMS 是一种离子光学磁谱仪,由一系列新的超导磁体组成,这些磁体将带电粒子输送通过一组触发、跟踪和粒子鉴别探测器,以测量动能、能量、角度和位置,从而允许对事件在散射靶标处的运动过程进行运动学重建。探测器系统通过精密的屏蔽壳体受到背景辐射的保护。整个谱仪安装在旋转支撑结构上,可实现对实验室散射角从 5.5 度到 40 度的大范围接受度的测量,从而可以进行一系列低樟截积实验。这些实验补充并扩展了以往的 Hall C 研究项目,向更高能量水平延伸。
