类星体的兴衰

摘要
在层级增长环境的框架下，讨论了类星体族群在落向大质量黑洞的气体吸积过程中的整体上升与衰落。上升与宿主星系组装期间充足的吸积有关；衰落则与这些星系在星系群中与伴星系相互作用时的间歇性吸积有关。光度函数（LFs）计算至z=6，并与本地星系中发现的遗迹黑洞质量分布相关联。类星体（QS）的历史与恒星形成历史进行了比较。
