我们基于 XMM-Newton、Chandra 和 BeppoSAX 观测，对 NGC 5506 的光谱和空间成分进行详细讨论。总体图景包括：被 cold gas（柱密度约 \approx 10^{22} cm^{-2}）吸收的核，周围环绕着一个Compton-thick torus，其存在通过 cold 反射成分和铁 K\alpha 线推断。尺度更大的范围内，约 350 pc 远处的光致气体会再处理核辐射，产生软增益和离子化铁线。值得注意的是，我们未发现吸积盘存在的证据。
