摘要
标准模型的扩展理论常预言存在低质量且相互作用极弱的粒子，例如轴子。在强度/精度前沿开展的一系列小型实验正积极搜寻这些难以捉摸的粒子，以此作为对对撞机上超出标准模型物理搜寻的补充。虽然下一代实验将能够探测巨大的未探索参数空间，但任何发现都将对我们理解基础物理产生巨大影响。
