太阳发电机的运行及其显著的时空有序性,仍是现代太阳物理学的未解难题。人们已提出若干可能有助于其运行的机制,但各自所起作用尚不明确。这种不确定性源于对深层对流流场速度与结构持续存在的疑问。这些流场被认为维持着太阳的湍流电动势(EMF)以及大尺度较差自转和经向环流,而后两者被怀疑影响着发电机的组织与节律。该领域的持续进展受到以下因素制约:(i)不同技术与仪器对对流和经向流的天震测量结果之间存在不一致;(ii)缺乏关于对流、较差自转和经向流的高纬度数据。我们认为,解决这些困难的路径有双重。首先,从极地视角获取长期天震与辐射率测量,对于完善太阳外对流区的图景至关重要。其次,对面向理论及理论与观测结合的研究计划持续且扩大的投入,对于充分利用这些新观测并解决现有测量间的不一致至关重要。
