PLANET 微镜活动:对银河盘和星团恒星行星的影响

摘要

通过对银河星团微镜事件进行24 小时不间断监测,PLANET 实验对银河盘和星团恒星周围的行星丰度进行约束,并可发现质量为地球级的行星。1999 年前所收集的数据表明,星团 M 型恒星中少于 1/3 具备质量为木星的伴侣,其轨道半径在 1 到 4 AU 之间。当前的微镜警报速率允许每年探测 15-25 颗木星和 1-3 颗地球质量的行星。
