M87*中的光子环

我们通过对2017年事件视界望远镜(EHT)观测的同时建模与成像,报告了对超大质量黑洞M87*周围引力透镜化的次级图像——无限系列所谓“光子环”中的第一个——的测量。推断出的环尺寸在2017年EHT观测活动的七天中保持恒定,并与理论预期一致,提供了此类测量探测时空的清晰证据,以及对第一组EHT结果所依赖模型的显著确认。残余弥漫发射在可与一周相比较的时间尺度上演化。我们能够以高显著性探测到与快速顺时针旋转的喷流基部预期相符的西南向延伸。这一结果进一步支持将M87*中的喷流识别为黑洞自旋驱动的外流,其通过Blandford-Znajek过程启动。我们基于将建模的薄环成分与模拟图像中看到的明亮环状特征相对应,给出了M87*质量的三个修正估计,其中之一仅对发射区的天体物理性质弱敏感。三个估计彼此一致且与先前报道的值相符。我们最强的质量约束结合了环和弥漫发射区的信息,二者共同意味着质量-距离比为,相应的黑洞质量为,后者的误差现在由源于M87*距离不确定的系统不确定性主导。
