来自磁星参与的双星并合中伽马射线暴的特殊前兆

摘要

GW 170817-GRB 170817A-AT 2017gfo 的里程碑式发现表明,引力波(GW)可在中子星-中子星/黑洞并合过程中产生,并且在电磁(EM)波中,伽马射线暴(GRB)与千新星(KN)会在并合后依次产生。然而观测上,并合阶段之前的电磁性质仍不清楚。在此我们报道在与千新星相关的长时标伽马射线暴 GRB 211211A 中观测到的一个特殊前兆,提供了并合前存在电磁活动的证据。该前兆持续约 0.2 s,其与主暴之间的等待时间约 1 s,与 GW 170817 和 GRB 170817A 之间的时间间隔相当。前兆的能谱可很好地用非热截断幂律模型而非黑体谱拟合。特别地,在前兆中探测到一个约 22 Hz 的准周期振荡候选(约 3σ)。这些时变与能谱性质表明,该前兆很可能由双星致密星并合中磁星磁弹性或壳层振荡伴随的灾难性耀发产生。磁星的强磁场也可解释 GRB 211211A 的延长时标。然而,仅依靠并合前的引力波辐射,很难调和磁星相当短的寿命与双星中子星系统相当长的旋进时间。
