超高能观测有效载荷(PUEO):一份白皮书

摘要

超高能观测有效载荷(PUEO)长时气球实验旨在对高于 1 EeV 能量的超高能中微子具有世界领先的灵敏度。探测该能量区域对于理解所有距离尺度上的极端能量宇宙至关重要。PUEO 利用了成功的南极脉冲瞬态天线(ANITA)计划的经验并取代之,其改进设计在低于 30 EeV 的能量下将灵敏度提高了超过一个数量级。PUEO 或将实现超高能中微子流的首次显著探测,或设定其最佳限制。
