宇宙 [OII] 3727 Å 线的光度密度

摘要
在以哈勃深场为中心的加州理工学院暗星系红移巡天中获取的 375 条暗星系光谱中，测量了 [OII] 3727 Å 线的等效宽度。计算了巡天光谱对 [OII] 线的灵敏度，作为星等、颜色和红移的函数。计算了 [OII] 线中星系数的光度函数以及宇宙在 [OII] 线中的积分光度密度，作为红移的函数。结果发现，[OII] 线中的光度密度在红移 z~1 时比当今高约 10 倍。最简单的解释是，宇宙恒星形成率密度自 z~1 以来急剧下降。
