在 2009 年 8 月 V713 Cephei 的爆发期间，测量了 8 次食的时标，这些时标连同 2007 年 8 月宁静期获得的 5 次食时标，提供了改进的轨道周期 0.085418432(4) 天。光变曲线中未观测到超驼峰，表明这是一次正常的 UG 型矮新星爆发。我们发现食深度随系统激发水平的上升而线性减小，从宁静期的约 3 星等降至爆发期的约 2 星等。宁静期食的深度和全食性表明轨道倾角较高。尽管食轮廓形状发生显著变化，但我们在宁静期和爆发期之间未观察到食的半高全宽变化。
