MMT 自适应光学系外行星表征系统(MAPS)是对第一代 MMT 自适应光学系统(MMTAO)的全面更新,旨在产生一套设施级仪器,用于拍摄邻近系外行星的图像。该系统的自适应副镜(ASM)虽部分由 MMTAO ASM 的遗留组件构成,但在工程、结构和功能上代表了重大飞跃。本文的主题是 MAPS 自适应副镜的设计、运行、成果与技术问题。我们讨论了面向夜空工程运行的实验室准备、这些运行的结果及我们发现的问题、在后续实验室工作期间对这些问题的认识,以及我们为缓解这些问题所采取的步骤。
