Beta Crateris 低质量白矮星伴星

摘要
我们报告对 Beta Crateris 这颗 4 级亮度 A1III 星的热白矮星伴星的 FUSE H Lyman 系列光谱。该系统具有异常低的质量，为 0.43 太阳质量，并且几乎可以确定其通过双星相互作用演化而来。该系统可能是长期寻求的 Algol 类型演化遗迹，尽管径向速度测量似乎显示两颗星并非紧密双星。相反，Beta Crt 通过 Hipparcos 测量的 proper motion 微小变动暗示其周期可能高达 10 年。然而，周期大于 3 年的低质量白矮星在常规双星演化模型中难以解释。我们对该系统的演化提出替代性模型，涉及偏心双星或多个成分。
