用于ATLAS缪子谱仪升级的大面积内部Micromegas模块:建造、质量控制与表征

摘要

LHC亮度的稳步提升要求对ATLAS缪子谱仪的内端盖(即New Small Wheels (NSW))进行升级,采用高计数率和高分辨率探测器技术。为了在NSW内半径处实现约15 kHz/cm2^2击中率下的精密径迹测量,已研制出每平面具有100\,\microns空间分辨率的大面积Micromegas四重结构探测器。本文报道了有史以来最大的Micromegas探测器的建造、生产、认证与验证。还将讨论在宇宙缪子表征下的性能结果。
