星系中的弥漫电离气体（DIG）可见于早型星系、晚型星系的核球、星系盘臂间区域以及此类盘平面之外。DIG 的发射线光谱可能与弱活动星系核的光谱相混淆。它还可能使恒星形成星系中化学丰度和恒星形成率的推断产生偏差。我们讨论了如何探测并可行地修正星系光谱中 DIG 的贡献。
