CoRoT 对近双星研究的影响

空间实验 CoRoT 将提供约六万颗恒星的连续监测与高精度光度曲线。选取的双星系统将在附加计划框架下作为长期连续定点观测的目标。此外，肯定会发现数千个新的双星系统，其中许多将拥有极其精确的光度曲线。这将允许对光度曲线上的细微效应进行研究，监测恒星活动，并与地面观测结合，将提供卓越的恒星参数确定。其中一类新发现的有趣系统将是低质量双星。
