Hyper Suprime-Cam SSP 巡天:概述与巡天设计

摘要

Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC) 是安装在夏威夷莫纳克亚山顶 8.2 米斯巴鲁望远镜主焦点上的宽视场成像相机。一支来自日本、台湾和普林斯顿大学的科学家团队正使用 HSC 对高银纬天空开展一项 300 个夜晚的多波段成像巡天。该巡天包含三个层次:Wide 层将在五个宽波段 (grizygrizy) 覆盖 1400 deg2^2,其 5σ5\,\sigma 点源深度为 r26r \approx 26。Deep 层在四个天区共覆盖 26~deg2^2,深度大致再暗一个星等;而 UltraDeep 层在 HSC 的两个指向(总计 3.5 deg2^2)中再暗近一个星等。在此我们描述该仪器、巡天的科学目标以及巡天策略与数据处理。本文作为《日本天文学会出版物》特刊的引言,该特刊收录了大量描述此巡天早期阶段结果的技术与科学论文。
