伽马射线暴 GRB 971214 宿主星系

摘要
我们报告了对 GRB 971214 宿主星系的哈勃空间望远镜（HST）观测，观测时间为暴后约四个月。结合该宿主星系的 z=3.418 红移以及暴后尾声的光学和射电观测，暗示该暴在伽马射线中释放的等效能量约为 3×10^53 ergs，约比此前通常假设的数值大约高出两个数量级。观测到的光学瞬态与 HST 图像中宿主星系中心之间的位置偏移为 0.14 -+0.07 弧秒。我们在浅的 HST 图像中未发现任何在该宿主星系 z=3.418 的视界线上叠加的机会前景星系。该星系的形貌和光度特性，如总 flux、形貌、径向表面轮廓和尺度长度，与其他已确认的 z>3 星系typical。
