高能X射线探测器(HEX-P):聚焦宇宙X射线背景

摘要

自宇宙X射线背景(CXB)发现以来,天文学家一直致力于理解在其10-40 keV能段峰值处吸积的类星超大质量黑洞(SMBHs)。现有软X射线望远镜仅能将此族群研究至10 keV,而NuSTAR(聚焦3–24 keV)虽取得重大进展,在刻画硬X射线族群方面仍留下显著不确定性,这对校准当前族群合成模型至关重要。本文对高能X射线探测器(HEX-P)的两个河外巡天(深场与宽场)模拟进行深入分析,各观测2 Ms。应用成熟的源探测技术,我们显示HEX-P巡天在10-40 keV能段将达到约\sim1015^{-15} erg s1^{-1} cm2^{-2}的通量,比当前NuSTAR巡天暗一个数量级。借助大量新探测硬X射线源(2000\sim2000),我们展示HEX-P能将40 keV以下超过80%的CXB解析为独立源。HEX-P解析背景测量的预期精度将使我们能区分SMBH增长的族群合成模型。HEX-P利用精确的宽带(0.5-40 keV)光谱分析以及软硬X射线颜色的结合,即便对较暗源也能提供遮挡约束,总体目标是测量Compton厚比例。凭借10–40 keV能段前所未有的灵敏度,HEX-P将探索AGN的硬X射线辐射至前所未有的流量极限,从而拓展偶然发现的参数空间。因此,很可能需新模型来刻画HEX-P将揭示的族群。
