摘要
在人类历史上,技术首次成熟到足以支撑一项能够发现并表征围绕类太阳恒星(非太阳)运行的类地宜居行星的任务。同时,这样的平台将实现地基设施无法完成的独特科学。该科学广泛而令人振奋,从对我们自身太阳系的新探究到全方位的天体物理学学科。宜居系外行星观测站(HabEx)是 NASA 当前为准备 2020 年天体物理学十年巡天而开展的四项研究之一。HabEx 被设计为 2030 年代的大型观测台,并通过竞争性和资助的客座观测者(GO)计划实现社区参与。本中期报告描述了 HabEx 基线概念,即一个基于空间的 4 米口径望远镜任务概念,具备紫外(UV)、光学和近红外(near-IR)成像与光谱能力。有关 HabEx 的更多信息可在 https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/habex 获取。
