引力波光学瞬变观测者(GOTO)是一组宽视场光学望远镜阵列,旨在利用来自下一代引力波探测器(LIGO、Virgo、KAGRA)的新发现,研究快速演化的瞬变源,并开发由中微子和甚高能伽马射线触发带来的多信使机会。除快速响应模式外,该阵列还将以数天 cadence 执行灵敏的全天瞬变巡天。该设施采用新颖的模块化设计,在单个基座上配备多个 40 厘米宽视场反射镜。2017 年 6 月,GOTO 合作组在加那利群岛拉帕尔马 Roque de los Muchachos 天文台(ORM)部署了初始项目原型,含 4 个望远镜单元。在此我们描述原型硬件的部署、调试与性能,并讨论这些发现对最终 GOTO 设计的影响。我们还对配备两个站点共 32 个望远镜单元的完整 GOTO 设施的科学前景给出初步评估。
