引力透镜 CFRS14.1311 = HST 14176+5226

Ratnatunga 等人 (1995) 最近提议，HST 14176+5226 这一对象在 "Groth-Westphal" HST 调查条带中是一个 "Einstein 十字" 引力透镜。恰巧，这一对象之前曾被观察过位于加拿大-法国红移测量 survey 中。候选透镜 catalogued 为 CFRS14.1311，是一颗 z = 0.81 的椭圆星系。此外，光谱显示出一个强大的、在空间上扩展的辐射特征位于 5342 Å，几乎肯定来源于四个 "透镜" 图像中的两个。我们暂行地将此辐射线识别为 z =3.4 的 Ly alpha。一个较不突出的辐射特征位于 6822 Å，可能是 C IV 1549。我们的数据因此支持将该系统识别为新的四影像透镜。
