Gemini 多对象光谱仪(GMOS)安装在 Gemini-North 望远镜上,具备覆盖 0.4-1.0 微米波长范围的积分场光谱装置。通过将积分场单元(IFU)遥控插入光束中取代多对象光谱仪所使用的遮罩,GMOS 可实现该模式的转换。配备 IFU 后,可在 5×5 弧秒的完全填充连续场中进行积分场光谱,采样为 0.2 弧秒。还提供一个面积为原场一半的独立场,以协助背景减法。IFU 包含 1500 个透镜阵列耦合光纤,是目前在天空上测试的最大格式基于光纤的 IFU,也是首个在 8/10m 级望远镜上使用的任何类型的积分场光谱设施。我们描述了 IFU 并展示了 commissioning 的结果。
